3D Nativity Scene at the Sanctuary of Los Remedios: A Fusion of Tradition and Technology
Tipo de Proyecto Colaboración con Antorchas Vivas Producción y Medios | Fecha Diciembre 2024 |
Rol VFX Artist | Ubicación Puebla, México. |
This project followed the same creative and technical approach as the Rosca de Reyes project but with a Christmas theme adapted to the Sanctuary of Los Remedios, one of the most iconic landmarks in Cholula, Puebla. This church, built atop the world's largest pyramid, became the perfect setting for a digital intervention celebrating Christmas with a 3D Nativity Scene and a Christmas tree.
The animation was designed to depict the gradual construction of the Nativity Scene, inspired by the LEGO-style assembly, where each element appears piece by piece. To achieve realistic integration, we applied motion tracking with the drone footage, ensuring that all digital elements aligned perfectly within the scene. Additionally, we used HDRI to texture the 3D models and adjust the lighting to match the real environment.
In the post-production phase, we applied color correction and added sound effects that reinforced the feeling of construction and realism within the video. Finally, we produced both horizontal and vertical versions, aiming to share a Merry Christmas message in an innovative and visually striking way.
This project not only blended Cholula's rich history with cutting-edge technology but also transformed an iconic site into a digital setting that celebrated the holidays from a fresh perspective, merging tradition and creativity into a unique audiovisual experience.
